POM stellt ein perfekter Ersatz für Präzisionsteile aus Metall wie Hebel, Lager, Buchsen, Nocken, Kernstücke, Scharniere, Verschlüsse, Rollen und Schrauben. Es ist auch für die Herstellung von Teilen von Industriemaschinen (Zylinder, Küsten, Führungen, Leisten, Abstandshalter, Stützen und Schellen) verwendet.

INTRODUCING POM

The polyoxymethylene (POM) is a partially crystalline thermoplastic material which is formed during the homopolymerization (POM-H) or the copolymerization (POM-C) of formaldehyde. To increase the properties (resistance, strength, rigidity, toughness, heat stability, electric conductivity) can be added glass fibers, polyurethane, molybdenum disulfide, PTFE, PE, silicone oils, aluminum powder, bronze and special plaster.

The POM material can be worked through all the typical processing methods for thermoplastic materials; It can thus be molded, extruded and machined. It is not weldable at high frequency.

The POM is the thermoplastic material more rigid and resistant and has excellent dimensional stability. It can withstand temperatures up to 150 ° C for short times, and up to 110 ° C for long times; brittle at temperatures below -40 ° C. High surface hardness and low friction coefficient impart a good sliding behavior and wear resistance. The isolation and the dielectric properties are not much affected by temperature and frequency. The permeability to gases and vapors is low. Both the POM-H is the POM-C are attacked by strong acids and oxidizing agents. It is not soluble, is physiologically harmless and can lend to the use in the food industry.

The POM is particularly suitable to replace precision metal parts, such as rotors, levers, bearings, hinges, rollers, reels and screws, in addition to being used for the manufacture of parts of industrial machinery, pipes, fittings, parts for textile machinery and components for pumps.
