MANUFACTURING OF SPACERS AND BLOCKS
All blocks, spacers, knockers, banks, shims, dowels, supports, plates, basements, and reinforcements have the same primary function: to allow the fastening of one or more components inside a machinery, a plant or, more generally, in a building. Their task is crucial: to provide solidity, robustness and durability to the entire structure. Very often these components are made of thermoplastic and elastomeric materials, which ensures high performance in terms of hardness, heat resistance, elongation at break, impact strength, rigidity, elasticity, vibration absorption, chemical resistance, noise emission and electrical insulation.
There are manifold applications in which these components are necessary: machinery for quarries and mines, packaging and bottling systems, lighting systems, machine tools, conveyors, furnishings, aerospace equipment, chemical and pharmaceutical plants, fruits and vegetables treatment lines, oil and gas plants, electronic equipments for telecommunications, medical equipment, sports equipments, wood and metal buildings, filter presses, safety equipments, printing machinery, frames, dosing and filling systems.
The choice of the material depends on the criticality of the various applications and include PTFE (virgin or filled with glass, bronze, carbon graphite, molybdenum disulfide and graphite), polyamides (PA 6, PA 6 + molybdenum sulfide, PA 6 + oil, PA 66, PA 66 + fiberglass), PEEK, PVC (standard, PVC-C, PVC-U), PET, PE, POM, PP, polyurethane, silicone and various rubber types.
